I sometimes use ochre coloured clay virtually in its raw state. This clay is shaped, worked, assembled, combed or embossed.

I then apply a slip (fine layer of a different clay) and glazes onto the pot. 
Strong textural contrasts between the glazed and raw clay surfaces are developped in that way.

The glowing colours of these ceramics bring warmth to the interiors in which they are used.
