Stoneware from the Puisaye region in France is at the core of my practice. Building on this, I work with a range of clays, colours and textures. This enables me to create contrasts in underlying layers, which remain visible after the glazing stage.
A very close interplay bewteen the clay and the glazes occurs following the firing at 1300°C. I like the fusion, strength and tension that result from this process.

Each surface is carefully considered for its pictorial and poetic potential. I use a range of techniques to explore this: wax resist patterns between layers, brushwork, splaterring, printing. The unique colour palette and personal language developped over 30 years are my tools to strive for freedom of expression.
